Apply for staff

Pichu's World is reopening the staff applications so that we can improve this site further. I would like to state clearly, that I will not be handing out passwords blindly or giving out important information that could endanger the site. Therefore, if any of you wish to apply for staff for the purpose of ruining the site, forget it. It won't happen.

General Rules

• First and formost, you must be reliable and trustworthy.
• I must be able to contact you via an instant messenger such as MSN, Yahoo, AIM, Skype or ICQ as well as e-mail. Note: I cannot install Gadu-Gadu.
• You must be fully active as part of staff and update regularly. If you know you cannot make the time, then do not join in the fist place.
• You must be capable of having a reasonable spelling and grammar standard, especially when writing pages or news, and you must refrain from using chat speak and black capitals.
• You must give a good image of Pichu's World meaning you must treat other members and visitors fairly and kindly. Respect is the key point here.
• I reserve to right to remove you and your content at any time, as well as modifying any of these conditions.
• All text, images and other material must be your own. If it is not, then I require proof of written consent of the rightful copyright owner. I strongly dispise excuses such as "image from Google" as it is not Google's image at all. Either way, I require the material that you contribute to be unique and relavant.
• In order to check you have read these rules, you must state the word "Pinkie does not like pink" somewhere in the subject or message. If you do not, you will automatically be disqualified.
• No advertising of your site. In fact, if you have a site, then I would question myself about your deication to Pichu's World.

Below are the positions avaliable, followed by instructions how to apply.

Possition 1: Translators

I am looking to make this site avaliable to people who cannot understand English, or who are more comfortable to use this site in a language that they are more familiar with.

Additional rules:

• You must be capable of translating text from English into your own language.
• Translating can be time-consuming, so beign dedicated is important.
• All accents must be included and your translation must be spelt correctly with good grammar.

I am particularly interested in translations into the following languages:

• Polish;
• Spanish;
• French;
• Any other language that you may know.

I am able to communicate with you in the following languages, from best to worst: Polish, Spanish and French. However, the knowledge of the English language is essential.

Possition 2: PHP and MySQL Guru

For this possition, you are required to work in collaboration with me to improve the oekakis and other PHP projects 9such as the soon-to-be-launched Pokedex).

Additional rules:

• You must have good knowledge of PHP, mySQL and (X)HTML.
• If possible, it would be nice if you could demonstrate your skills (for example, showing a small script that you have made).
• You must have some knowledge on how to prevent security holes, such as how to use GET and POST effectively and to pevent mySQL injections.
• Although not necessary, some familiarity with the purpose and coding of Wacintaci would be nice.

Possition 3: Content Writer

Basically, you will be required to post various unique articles / tutorials on the site. This includes on the following topics:

• Art related (Oekaki tutorials, Photoshop tutorials, anatomy tutorials).
• Webmaster related (HTML tutorials, PHP tutorial, top 10 tips).
• Creating free content (avatars, layouts, splashes, buttons).

I would prefer if you could stick to one of the above topics so that you can concentrate on just one thing.

Position 4: Checker

To ensure that Pichu's World is a quality site, it is useful for one staff member to verify all links work, that there are no brocken images, etc.

You will be required to create a "report" on all errors ever 3 months or so. Hopefully, more than one person will apply, therefore, the workload will be fairly devided between all staff. Obviously, I will be considerate of the time this take, and so we will both discuss You will need to thoughroughly check:

• If all links work.
• If there are any brocken images or thumbnails; if images correspond to their thumbnails.
• Spelling and grammar on each page.
• Loading times.
